14-year old Ferderich Enbre was killed yesterday afternoon in a fatal truck accident while riding his bike just blocks from his home in Maspeth, Queens.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Eliot Avenue and Fresh Pond Road when a tractor-trailer struck the boy while he was crossing the street on his bicycle. The truck’s driver says he did not see the boy crossing the street as he turned right onto Eliot Ave. Witnesses say the truck driver stopped immediately after realizing he hit something, then got out and called for help.
Enbre went into cardiac arrest at the scene of the accident. He was rushed to Wyckoff Heights Hospital where he later passed away.
